   The Theater of Marcellus, located near the Roman Forum in Rome, is an ancient open-air theater that dates back to the late 1st century BC. Commissioned by Julius Caesar and completed by Emperor Augustus, it was named in honor of his nephew and heir, Marcus Marcellus.
